Serolsar Lake is located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. The trek to the lake starts from Jalori Pass which is at a height of about 10,000 ft above sea level. You can stay at Shoja, which is 5 Kms away from the Jalori Pass.
Shoja is a charming village that offers picturesque views and is a heaven for nature lovers. The place has a few guest houses, and it is recommended to make a booking beforehand.
Serolsar lake is situated at a distance of about 5-6 kms from Jalori Pass. It would take about 2-3 hours to cover the distance; the path to the lake is extremely beautiful and serene. You need to travel through dense forests to reach the lake.
Once you reach the lake the view just takes your breath away. The lake is almost as big as a football field with lush green surroundings. The lake is crystal clear and according to the locals, whenever a twig or leaf falls into the lake it is immediately removed by the birds. There is a temple near the lake, known as ‘Bhuddhi Nagin’ temple. It is believed that the Bhudhi Nagin stayed at the palace located at the bottom of the lake.
You may come back from the lake on the same day itself, but it is very much recommended to camp overnight at the lake to be able to enjoy the sunset and the sunrise at the lake.
